Dripp
BY ASHLEY HUYNH
In a pretty low beat plaza, Dripp brings a consistent demand to the table for more espresso shots and ice cream cookie sandwiches. This coffee bar is everything any newcomer would want to experiment as they enter the world of modern coffee shops, providing an appropriate selection of sweets and treats while giving an urban feel wafting in the air. Walking into the building, this place oozes with a serene relaxed aura with informative baristas that are patient to explain how their menus work, fully accommodating to the customer’s request.
To start off with their main hit, ice cream cookie sandwiches, the system goes by three steps, choosing how many scoops of ice cream you want, what flavor, and what kind of cookie you’d like to sandwich your desert in. Some people pick two different kinds of cookies, some don’t. My friend and I ordered a dark chocolate chip cookie with one scoop of peanut butter ice cream and a toffee cookie with one scoop of salted caramel ice cream. Now, when it comes to the cookies, it was the perfect consistency, not too hard but it had just the right amount of chewy soft, buttery texture to completely compliment the richness of the ice cream.
Next is the coffee department, I have to say that for any caffeine lover, if you order the Black Goat Turkish Coffee, you will genuinely appreciate the strong, smooth but uniquely different flavor that the coffee has to offer. Because of the bit of raspberry jam mixed into the beverage, it gives a subtle fresh sweetness to the drink that has you wanting more. With such a perfect combination, well, I’m a fan already. Another plus is the feel of the ceramic cups that make you feel as if you’re at home easing into a hot drink to warm up on a cold day. There’s not much seating inside, and on weekends I can assume the upstairs lounge gets occupied very quick, so I would recommend coming the weekday when you have the chance.

MILK
BY SYBRINA IRACHETA
The desserts at MILK are sure to be memorable for all those with a sweet tooth. With its famous items being their homemade ice cream and sorbet to their classic milkshakes and malts are a perfect blend of perfection. Located on the corner in West Hollywood its always seems to have a line out the door of ice cream lovers waiting. MILK’s ice cream sandwiches are unique with rich flavors of ice cream and macaroon cookies the outer layer. I loved how different the macaroon was topping over the ice cream, not much like other ice cream parlors. The down-side of MILK is the prices. for a scoop of ice cream is $3.50 and a ice cream sandwich is $5. also MILK isn’t close by but worth a mini trip for sightseeing and ice cream in LA.
